FREEDOM WEEK!

This past week I was able to spend time working with Tara Teng (the current Miss Canada) and her team on Freedom Week. This was several events that took place in order to raise awareness about human trafficking in Canada. I was able to go see a play that was written for this as well as a dance/play performance that told a few true stories of people who were victims of human trafficking in Canada. They were both incredibly moving and powerful events that reminded me why this is something I have been so passionate about for so long. Sometimes it takes hearing one person's story to make the 27 million (which is a current estimate of how many people are trapped in modern-day slavery world-wide) seem real. The week ended on Saturday with the Freedom Rally and March where a we all gathered and marched through the streets of Langley to make a stand and bring awareness that 'slavery is bad and we want it to stop'! Those words basically sum up what Tara's goal was when she started planning this event. Right now Canada is both a destination and source of human trafficking and my hope is that one day, Canada will be known as a nation with absolutely no tollerence for this injustice. AMY, ANGELA, AND A COLD AFTERNOON

Well... It's been a while since I put up new pictures. This is a sample of my favorite pictures from a shoot I did with my super talented friend Angela (http://www.ellahausphotography.com/) and her cousin Amy. Amy needed some pictures to take to modeling agencies so this was her first "model" shoot of, I'm sure, many more to come! She did awesome and was such a trooper to go with the flow despite the FREEZING temperature. We did a few different looks which was a lot of fun and gave us photographers a lot to work with! PERKUP CAFE!

Well, I spent an afternoon at Perkup Cafe in Surrey this week. I got the opportunity to sample some of the products and take a few picures showcasing some of their delicous treats! Here's some of the pictures I took:

    

   

VERY NEW SWEETHEART!

Here is the newest addition to a family I've gotten to know very well over the last year and a half or so. I got to do engagement pictures and wedding pictures and now their first baby. Olivia is their first baby and we got to do this shoot when she was just 10 days old ( I might be off a day or two on that). I love working with little ones like this sweet-heart. I'm still blown away every time I see their little fingers and toes and ears... it's really amazing so I love to capture them in the first few days of life... they dont last long! Here's a little sample!
